Glaive and Maul, simply because they look cool bot hin style and use.
There was a scene in the hobbit where the dwarves are escaping from the goblin king, and the fat dwarf was using a blunt weapon similar to the Maul, it was really cool moment. I envision a Maul being used in a similar fashion against a bunch of Aliens :D
